Le Vainqueur

The irresistible scents of the sea and the reassuring depth of woods and leather exalt the victorious spirit that lies in every man. François Rancé created these notes for Napoleon, the most daring of all victors. The sentimental journey to an island shaped by the winds, which fiercely blow along the Strait of Bonifacio. Paying homage to the landscapes of Corsica, homeland to Napoleon, these Mediterranean scents melt in a fresh and aromatic bouquet, which appeals to men’s soul. Extracts of Bergamot and Lemon Zests, mixed with a gentle sea breeze, introduce a refined heart of Lavender and Ginger, whose aromatic verve is enhanced by the precious Geranium. In the base a subtle blend of Wood and Leather, enriched by the entrancing Musk, highlights the strong personality of the perfume. Originally composed by François Rancé for Napoleon, it was reformulated in 2005 by perfumer Jean-Christophe Hérault.
